Dear all,

To foster analytical skills for students (in all academic fields) that are essential to their academic maturation and professional expertise, and to build a research culture into local universities that would aid in accomplishing the overall mission of developing academic institutions, Hoa Sen university, in cooperation with Fulbright Program, is going to organize a Mentor Research Program for not only Hoa Sen university undergraduate students but also all other students in HCMC.

The Fulbright Research Mentorship Program is designed to introduce undergraduate students to research methodologies through a combination of academic instruction, interactive teamwork, and engagement with community leaders.

Selected students will participate in an intensive 8-week program, with classes convening for three hours every Monday night, hosted by Hoa Sen University in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The course would be conducted in English by Fulbright scholars with the support of a Vietnamese lecturer from HSU.

In addition to developing a strong intellectual foundation in qualitative and quantitative research methods, students in this program will, through a combination of interactive coursework and analysis, acquire a wide range of professional and personal skills that will prepare them for success in future academic and professional endeavors. 

2. Course structure:

• Introductory lectures
• Group activities
• Enrichment seminars by instructors or a community representative about “real-world” situations.
• Individual assignment
   

3. Deadlines

• February 22, 2010: Open for applications (Application form)
• March 15, 2010: Application due by 5 pm by sending your complete application form to this email frmp.vietnam@gmail.com.
• March 22, 2010: Notify finalists for interviews
• March 27/28, 2010: Interviews for students at Hoa Sen this weekend
• April 5^th, 2010: start of the program
• May 24^th, 2010: end of program
